How bad is office romance? 1
You get fired. This is the likely outcome of having an affair in the office especially if it's against the company's rule.
But what if the office rules and regulations and social disapproval is removed, won't it be nice to have an affair in the office? Is office romance really such a bad idea?
Contrary to the general belief that office romance is a bad idea, you can make it work out for you. It depends on how you go about it. Generally, most organisations do not support intimate relationships in the working environment because of the belief that it might affect performance and credibility of employees. Despite this, people do get involved in office romance and some do end up well.
Let's face it, office romance saves you the time and energy of shopping for a new love. No need to hang out in a bar after work for a lucky date when one is staring at you in the face. Asides that, it enhances your social life especially if you work round the clock.
Office romance gives you an insight on the personality type of the person you are dating. From your interactions and encounters in the office, especially during crisis or heated arguments, you could decipher if they are date-worthy or not.
Office romance can challenge you in a positive way. Having a partner who is proactive and diligent in his/her career can encourage you to do same. A successful and disciplined boss can be an inspiration to a subordinate he/she is dating.
